posting the family secrets

I can't remember who I promised this to right now, so I'll just post
it up for everyone. Substitute ribs for whatever other meat, use sauce
as you see fit, etc. Credits to Tommy & Noriko Boyer.

GRITS - Glazed Ribs in Teriyaki Suace

5 lbs. Pork Ribs (beef or chicken)
1 cup Kikkoman soy sauce
1 1/2 cups sugar
1/3 cup dry white wine
1 Tbsp. sesame seed oil
1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
1/2 tsp. minced ginger root
1 tsp. minced garlic
1/2 tsp. powdered cayenne pepper
1 tsp. flaked red pepper
1 bell pepper sliced

Cut ribs into serving portions and trim off excess fat. Combine remaining
ingredients in a pan an cook over low heat for about 15 minutes, melting
sugar. Remove from heat and let cool. Pour sauce over ribs and marinate
over night in the refrigerator.

Remove ribs from sauce and bake at 325 for 30 to 45 minutes. Pour off
melted fat. Bring the sauce to a boil above the stove and use 3 Tbsp. cold
water mixed with 2 Tbsp. cornstarch to thicken.

Glazing - dip ribs into thickened sauce and glaze under the broiler.
Repeat glazing process.

In other happy fun news my parents just showed up at my doorstep with
about a hundred pounds of shrimp they'd gotten from down da baya,
and I got a few pounds off of them to freeze, yay.
