The sweet sound of powertools

Everyone who hasn't already is cutting plywood to board
up their windows. Now at my parents' house north of
New Orleans, at least I'm above sea level here. Looking
out the windows and seeing plywood is really strange.

If it stays on the current track I can stay here, but we
may have to head north tomorrow morning. Susie and
I in one car and my parents and daisy in another.

After that, who knows, all I can do is watch tv and hit

Good luck. Hope you'll be safe.

Good luck, that's exactly what I did when Frances hit.

My parents couldn't find plywood, but they drove by a construction dumpster that had plenty of plywood left in it. What's crazy is locking yourself in a room with boarded windows, having no power (and no AC or lights), and feeling the foundation shake combined with an eerie howl.

At least they finally cleared the tree that was blocking my front door.

Thanks yall.

Wazm: My parents had plywood already measured from a
previous hurricane for this house, but we had to
trim some of it... They were showing people buying
Home Depot out of plywood on Monday and Tuesday's
news. We've got access to a small generator if the
power goes out here for very long but we might not
even get too wet...
