stuff to make you happier

I shouldn't be typing, my hands and wrists are about
to revolt and order me to go finish the bottle of wine
sitting lonely in the kitchen. So much work.

Onward.

This was at the deli I get my lunch from a few days a
week. Cue beavis-and-butthead giggling.

From Ray, a song to keep up your spirits.

The README for xterm. (So what, I have code in X
from six, seven years ago. It's funny, ok? Yes, I know
I'm a nerd. I try to make up for it with hot shoes.)

musical interlude

From France. I was surfing around the hype machine the other
day looking for something, and ran across Prototypes. The
best description I can give you is "this is what French bubblegum
punk must sound like." Nice and loud and bouncy. The lead has the
same kind of attitude as VV from The Kills.

(23-3. Yeah baby.)

and now there are two

my cars

I now own two black civics with white pinstripes. I bought
the shiny one last night, it's a 2002 dx coupe, 5-speed. It
has glorious air conditioning. In front of her is my 92 Si,
which has a dead compressor but is fun to drive, just not in
the heat.

Once I can get the Si back uptown and detailed I will be
selling it, hopefully.

does this happen in YOUR city?

So I was in Discrete Math class today (noontime day class,
only section it's offered) and lecture was droning on and
we hear a brass band from outside. Look over to the window,
and it's a second line rambling up along the side of the
Liberal Arts building at UNO, complete with a handful of
Mardi Gras Indians. Awesome.

update

Got home late sunday night. Car started, new ipod attachment
working, too. I really needed to not work for a few days.

Summary: boys, cars, drinking, holy sexy mcoupe batman, halo
on giant screen tv, drinking, poker, cars, how much stuff from
ikea can we fit in the supercharged m3, drinking, poker, sleep.

I had a good time. Thanks pete and nuzz for putting up with me.

Now I have to catch up on homework and pulling users out of AD
for some customers because they don't want to use services for
unix to make uid's.

SLA? what SLA?

Bellsouth apparently has a total disregard for theirs.

Total outage time: 8pm Sunday to 12 noon Monday.

Sunday they were in complete denial that there were any
problems, by the time I got anywhere with them this morning,
they had to re-terminate their end of my line.

Do I really need to say any more?

dear bandwidth gods,

Could you please give us another carrier allowed to run T1
lines in the New Orleans area? Bellsouth sucks. My office
T1 has been out for more than two hours as I write this.
Last week when summoned to check out an outage they
reported no problems on the line, as it magically started
working as soon as they were called. (Tonight, I am not
so lucky.)

It has been T1 death week all around, as some of my other
clients had five hours of business-hours outage due to Sprint
losing a router in Atlanta, trying to re-route to Fort Worth,
and failing.

So not that it really would be any better, but it might be
different. Getting credited for this is going to be fun.
Really.

And I quote a commit to bugs over at my clients office:
"We don't care, we're the phone company!"
