I wasn't going to say anything, because I figured you folk
are all enough nerds that you'd have heard about this. But
Joel put such a great headline on it that I couldn't resist.
How many Microsofties does it take to implement the Off menu?
So, we have some vague idea on the builds process for Vista
there. 1-3 months for feedback? Ack. OS X builds weekly.
(At least. Probably daily now, according to him.)
I spent six months at DEC while it was being Compaq-ized when
I was 19. Worked on X for what had just been renamed Tru64,
had commit bits and all that. It built every night for several
different OS versions. Compiler first, if I recall right.

I'm pretty sure the Mac OS X builds are now done daily, if not even more frequently. I was sharing my experience as of five years ago...

Cool. It's good in either case. I find that kind of stuff interesting even though I don't do that sort work these days.
