cocomment is cool

On a better note...

I signed up for cocomment last summer, to take a stab at the
"so many comments, so hard to follow up" problem. They have
a neat little autodiscovery thingy, that latches into comment
forms and saves pages to your profile. Really useful. Problem
was, it was hooking itself into my bugzilla comments, needing
to be disabled on every single bug page, seriously annoying.

Thought about it again last week or so, and sent them email,
asking if there was a blacklist feature, "do I need to update
the firefox extension?" They responded back the next day, "It's
supposed to be in the next version of the extension, due out
next month, we hope, but we can add something to the blacklist
for you if you need it." Sent them a URL, turned the extension
back on, and I can track comments without stress. Happiness.

Now if only I could watch tv.

Since you're using cocomment, how about dropping the widget on your blog? I can tell you're not a huge widget fan, but I love it when I find the cocomment widget on other peoples' blogs for two reasons:

1) It acts as a filter for me by pointing out all the posts that are interesting enough to merit commenting.

2)I get to see the blogger in question on both sides of the dialogue. Much more interesting via than just posts.

You should consider it.

I might? It's not so much being anti-widget as anti-sidebar, they've just never fit around here. (I have experimented with delicious and favorite posts sidebars.) I want to do a 'recent comments' part, but I don't know yet.

I might just do a little box down by the mybloglog stuff, and a link on the front page. Couple of other links I need to put in, but well, time.

I've been turned off cocomment. It's too buggy, slows down firefox a lot.

Hmm. That could be because you are in Taiwan and they are in Europe. It's been fine for me.
