This came Thursday. Isn't it adorable? It's explicitly not
for doing work, so I think we will get along just fine.
(Though, so far I have not succeeded in keeping bugzilla out
of firefox.)
Mac people, recommend me cool software, please? Like maybe
a filename->id3tag conversion tool so that iTunes won't choke
on my mp3s?

(Or why I've never liked Corvettes)
This was my dad's mustang when I was a kid. I can source
my entire car obsession back to this one car. 1967 Mustang
hardtop, manual transmission. This is pre-restoration, we
took it out of storage in 1987 or so. I can't find the
post-restoration pictures, and we sold it around 1991.
The restoration was white with deep red interior, and it
was the coolest thing ever to eight year old me.
I check every white mustang I see these days in town to see
if she's around. I really hope she didn't get ruined in
the floods, but it's actually kinda likely. Dad used to
drive her to UNO when he went back to school after the oil
bust in the 80s, and we'd only get to ride in it on special
occasions. I remember taking it fishing out to shell beach,
towing our little flatboat on the Chalmette ferry at some
ungodly hour of the morning.

The strangest thing I did this weekend has to be carrying
a world war two Russian rifle up into my apartment from
the street, to clean it. Clay bought it when we were at
the gunshow out in Kenner this weekend.
We took it shooting today and I kinda want the carbine
version of it now. I've only shot rifles a tiny bit and
I could hit the plates at the back of the range 100 yards
out pretty easily.
I bought a little "polish makarov" p-64. Tiny little black
thing, somewhat like a PPK, but shoots 9x18 rounds. I need
to keep it and the HK in separate drawers, I think, so that
Germany doesn't invade Poland.

My dog had her first bar accident this weekend.
So, Saturday afternoon, we decide to walk Susie over to
The Bulldog on Magazine. (I would give you a link but
google SUCKS at finding bar websites.)
We take her in without any trouble, and I take her ahead
onto the patio to find a spot to sit. Susie goes off to
meet these two puppies, and gets on fine with them, but
ends up getting tangled on a cafe table, tipping it over,
and spilling at least one beer. More beer was on the dog
than on the ground.
The dog got her first bath in the new house after a pint
or so. And everyone out there was cool.

What the hell do I do with the weird red nook in the
living room wall?

Not happy with the feather at the moment.
As an experiment, I went to see if the paid service is decent
at all, and it's not. It is very slightly (but not much)
faster than the free version, when I can get a connection from
my house, which is on the balcony if at all. (Down the street
at the Rue now, because I needed to try to see what was up with
the network at my parents house.)
Cable soon, really. With cable will come pictures of stuff.
Shiny pony pictures. Like this one but much clearer.

New place, before all the stuff got in here. Picked up a
little table and chairs for the balcony yesterday because
the wireless works better out there. Everything is here
or in my car now, finally. Not having real internet is
a huge pain, stuff just isn't fast enough to get any work
done.

Sleeping here tonight. The "boyfriend, meet my parents" stuff
went fine. Dressed up and caught the last day of the exhibit
"Femme Femme Femme" at NOMA this evening as well.
The only furniture that is in its right place is my bed, but
hey, that's all I need right now.
I'm stuck on feather for about a week, until Cox catches up
on its appointments.
