My dad and his iPhone, which is impressive from the standpoint
that he does not have a Mac or even an iPod, (but both of us
kids do.) It's shiny. The zoom is nifty. I haven't tried
typing on it yet. I still think it's too big for girl pockets.
Thing 1 and Thing 2, who drive my mother crazy with their mess,
but they are really nice puppies. Both bigger than Susie, now.

I just got a piece of spam with K&B as the From: address.
Oh land of purple insanity, how we all miss you...

Hit the beach again this weekend, this time we just crossed the
bay bridge and stopped as soon as we found a decent spot to
park. No pictures, no disaster tourism, just driving and
water and sky and empty.
Spent half the afternoon reading about shrimp, and bought some
by the side of the road (2.50/lb midsized ones) and cooked
them for dinner. (My grandma would consider that expensive
for shrimp, but then again, she buys from her "network" of
people in large quantities, and haggles. She gets stew
sized shrimp for under a dollar a pound sometimes.)
Now if only I could get rid of this little bit of sunburn...

Posting youtube, because by now, I think even the most
die-hard unix junkies of my friends have flash working.

Past all of this empty, (looks like the middle of nowhere,
doesn't it?), tucked away in a corner of Holy Cross in the
Lower 9th ward, lie these.

We were giving a tour to an old friend from RIT, and I wanted
to go take pictures of them for my mom, as I didn't know they
existed until recently.

Also, this former duplex I'd taken a picture of in May has
managed to get one of the nicer variety of trailer. The kind
that don't still have wheels on them, and have siding.

Server's been spotty around here lately, for which
I apologize. I'm working on finding a little old
1u dell off ebay to make into skirt vi; skirt v runs
a particularly quirky version of digital unix, onto
which I would have to compile gcc to get a working
perl version, which I need for movable type....
Otherwise? Things are good. Happy, even.
This blog may go out periodically in the next couple
of weeks, but my mail works fine, and I've been
on the silly twitter trend as well.

As crazy as this whole senator in a whorehouse thing
has gotten, we really gotta get rid of this DA. For
the first time a couple of people in office appear to
have gotten a spine about the whole thing.
Maitri's got a nice convenient list of people to bother
about it, and there's a ton of coverage in the whole
local blogger spectrum.
Your regularly scheduled photo blogging to resume shortly.

Took a short trip down to the Mississippi coast with
Clay this weekend. Gave him my camera to take pictures.
Highway 90 from Bay St. Louis to Gulfport is about this
empty the entire time.

Waffle House is rebuilding (and tasty) really high up with
submersible buildings, as the beach is just across the
highway from this one.

Walked along some of this stuff for a while too. Empty
beaches on a gorgeous beach in the middle of July was really
bizarre. To be expected for someone else's disaster, I guess.
Not really that many pictures of houses or anything because
well, there are none anymore. Here are some more pictures.
