This keyboard was not yet two years old, and I had worn
off a bunch of key labels using all the time. My dad tried
to use it the other day and freaked out trying to look
at the keys. "Wait, where's the M key? You type on it
instead." Worn-away count: E, C, S, G, M, N, K, L.
B and D were on the brink.
It got sent home to IBM, as I had spilled coffee in it
last week, and returned all new and shiny. Also seems to
be more clicky than the last one.
Time to see how long the letters last on the new one.

I swear, the corner of Magazine and Seventh is blessed
by the weird car fairy. This is a 1955 DeSoto Fireflite
Coronado. Catty-corner from the Porsche 356 some time
back. Other things pop up there as well.
I have a few more things after my laptop gets fixed.
It had an incident with some coffee early in the morning
a couple of days ago and has to go home to IBM now.

Spent a bunch of time this afternoon sitting on the
river drinking Abita and watching boats go by while
overhearing the music at French Quarter Fest. Got
one of the elusive duck poboys (think roast beef
poboy but made with duck instead) that I kept missing
last year.

It seems right now like the entire city is pissed off
at the Church. Looking at all these pictures, I find
myself thinking what beautiful things the church
used to build for its people. To show them God through
architecture, stained glass, and paint. Why don't they
do this anymore? Some of the churches I attended growing
up were the most dreadful low-ceilinged buildings, all
built after 1950. Not like most of these.
It's this kind of bullshit that drove so many of us to leave
the church in the first place. It's as if the church
forgot that it needs to help their believers to keep faith.
Aside for the locals, we are intending to make an
appearance to pay respects to Ashley tomorrow. I don't
know how long I can stay, but we shall see.
Back to trying to get myself caught up with the grind.
